Activities

Children at St. Gerald’s Academy are engaged in activities that nurture their bodies, minds and souls. Children are exposed to a variety of activities throughout their time at the Academy both as enrichments and extracurricular activities. These activities aim to supplement our unique programs operating within each classroom.  

 These include:

• Games and sports
• Music class
• Computer classes
• Swahili language classes – instructed by qualified  teachers
• Life skills programs (art and craft, cooking, Agriculture etc.)

These activities help children to participate in a program in which every child is given the opportunity to shine.

 

Field Trips

Our learners attend one field trip each term. Traditional field trips include visits to: nature conservatories, farms, plays, art and history museums, and historical and cultural sites.

 

The Environment

The school boasts of a comfortable home-like environment with a beautiful scenery. Our classrooms and gross motor space is created with your child’s needs in mind in order to best assist them in reaching their full physical, social, and academic potential. Classroom furniture is child-sized and all of our materials are smaller versions of implements your child sees you using at home.

Parents and Family Members Involvement

Parents and family members are the most important partners in our children’s education. The School’s program offers parents and family members the support and skills they need to help their children succeed.  Our teachers are available to offer advice and assistance with everything from creating a beautiful, mind stimulating environment for your child at home, or sharing information on sleep, nutrition, toileting, and behavior management.

Our parents demonstrate their commitment to their children’s education and development by becoming actively involved in the daily school’s activities where they get to learn about the educational and social development of children and gain the necessary skills to empower themselves and their families to succeed
